A Night at Native Foods Cafe

This past Thursday we hosted our first event of the new year at Native Foods Cafe in Wicker Park. If you haven’t been to NFC, it’s a fast casual, vegan restaurant with four locations in Chicago and over 22 locations across the country. Their mission is to bring diners delicious, vegan dishes. The food is made fresh daily and the entire menu is 100% plant-based. Windy City Blogger Collective was invited to try some new items on their menu which pre-launched on Wednesday and is planned to roll out to all other locations at the end of the month.

We had a wide range of bloggers attend the event, from fashion to fitness to food. Over 20 members joined in on the dining experience.

The group was introduced to CEO of Native Foods, Michael Mack, who talked about each of new menu items. Bloggers taste tested a variety of items such as BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, Buddha Bowl, Fried Cauliflower and more!

Ever heard of vegan Chicken and Waffles? Well, it’s a thing and it’s delicious! Everyone raved about the food, some didn’t even realize it was vegan because it tasted so good.

How good does this Buddha Bowl look? Julie from Inspiring Kitchen captured this colorful dish. The bowl is filled with teriyaki sweet potatoes, fanned avocado, fresh seasonal fruit, roasted corn, daikon Sprouts and cilantro jasmine rice. Yum.
