Plunging into 30’s last month and I’m a HUUGE amateur. A few weeks before turning 30, I began to reflect on my accomplishments, my shortcomings, my unmet goals, and my crushed dreams that have yet to come true, as my “Achieve by 30’s” plan dictated. After speaking to my friends, I was relieved to hear that, amidst the approach of “The Dirty Thirty,” I wasn’t the only one who had these dark thoughts. Many women approaching their 30’s question their accomplishments, how they got to where they are at, and what they still need to do to meet their life goals. To appease my discontent, I thought about sharing my journey through posts about my own life hacks relating to life, fashion, health etc. In the end, my personal goal is to grow as a confident writer and connect, collaborate, and create with other women who aim to grow personally and professionally. Ultimately, I believe that women should raise each other up and share best practices relating to work, relationships, love, finances etc. One of my
friends put it in perspective. “I had similar feelings going into my 30s that almost made me not enjoy my last year in my 20s. 30s are awesome, I give less fucks. I feel better about myself and that realization comes from understanding that happiness comes from within – allowing yourself to be happy, and not letting circumstances fuck with you. I mean I sort things into what I can change (what is up to me) and what I won’t be able to influence.” -JZ
When did you start blogging and what inspired you to start you blog?
I started blogging early March right before my 30 th Birthday. I needed an outlet for my
eternal life questions, relationship analysis, fashion hacks, and creativity.
What is your favorite blog post that you have written?
My favorite blog post is “Crossfit and Zero Alcohol.”
What do you love about blogging?
I love putting my thoughts down in a clear, efficient, fashion. It makes me feel like my life is in order. Sometimes I reread my posts and love seeing how my experiences, thoughts, and perspectives coalesce into the person I am today. They remind me who I am and who I want to be.
What are some brands that you have worked with, or some brands that you would love to work with?
I have not worked with any brands, but would love to work with companies that focus on rentals. I’m a diehard fan of “Rent the Runway”, I posted about it here. I love the
idea of renting clothes, jewelry, purses, etc. I’m also interested in skincare and cosmetics geared towards people with sensitive skin.
