Meet The Member: Emily of Seashorties

My name is Emily Langtiw, and I am the conscious fashion and lifestyle blogger behind Seashorties. Motivated out of my desire to help others, my dedication to conscious living goes as far as being aware of everyday fashion, food, and lifestyle choices. I am committed to restoring the planet for our future generations, and this is best demonstrated by my conversations on eco-friendly fashion, organic beauty, as well as the founders and designers behind the labels that are making this world a better, more sustainable place.

1. When did you start blogging and what inspired you to start you blog?

I began blogging in December of 2017 because I experienced a life changing transformation towards freedom, truth, and joy after I redesigned my values to become centered around restoring consciousness. Completely committing to eco-friendly and ethical is a difficult journey to embark on, but I wanted to prove that this is totally feasible, even for college students, and well worth the destination. Sharing this holistic way of living will create so many more happy and fulfilled women, and since then, that’s what I’ve been on a mission to achieve!

2. What is your favorite blog post that you have written?

My favorite blog post thus far has to be my 30+ Brand Guide for the Conscious College Student! I have been studying up on sustainable labels for a while, and after gathering all of these resources that a typical student can’t take the time to find has helped quite a few young women with their dorm essentials for the upcoming school year. I even found some affordable options of specific clothing items on sale to make the search easier!

3. What do you love about blogging?

Exploring the depths of sustainability is a constant process of self-growth, and not only has it been enriching, but the individuals I’ve met along the way are a part of these amazing, dedicated communities that I now participate in as well. I am so fortunate to have a platform that allows me to connect with others across the world, on a daily basis. The strong community that surrounds your blogging makes your efforts is priceless. To others, they may just be your followers. To me, they are loyal women who always have my back and only want me to succeed.

4. What are some brands that you have worked with, or some brands that you would love to work with?

I previously worked with Curtsy, and it was nothing short of progressive being their intern and ambassador. I learned so much from their social media program and spoke with the founders on a weekly basis to build the dress rental start-up. Currently, I have an upcoming campaign with the Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute called “5 Days 5 Ways”, an Instagram effort that aims to spread awareness on sustainable and versatile fashion. In the future, I would love to work with other sustainable and organic labels, such as bareMinerals  and the Girlfriend Collective.
