My name is Monika Grunwald and I run a style blog www.somepopofcolor.com which focuses on my personal style and my love for color, as the name suggests. I have been doing it for the last few years and it’s bringing me a lot of joy to be able to express myself and share my inspirations with my audience.
When did you start blogging and what inspired you to start you blog?
I started my blog in 2014, but I got fully committed to it (and by that I mean that I started posting regularly, at least twice a week) at the end of 2016. I started it shortly after having my first son; I felt the need to put myself out there creatively partly due to the fact that while being home and tending to my baby I felt my creativity was stagnant and I needed an outlet to express myself. At that point I have been following a few style blogs religiously and one day I thought ‘I can do it too’. I had so many ideas and immediately got very excited for making the decision to start a blog.
What is your favorite blog post that you have written?
I have many that I like, but one of my favorites has to be this one. It represents my style and aesthetics to a T – it mixes different styles and has that ‘pop of color’ that I love so much in the form of the pink beaded earrings.
What do you love about blogging?
I like the freedom that it gives me to not only showcase my style and share my point of view on fashion, but it’s also a great outlet for someone like me who gets inspired by so many things that surround us. And even though my blog is just about my style, to me it is about so much more. I like planning ahead, thinking about what my next color story will be, the graphics of my page; so it is not just about the clothes or the shoes, but about an overall visual journey that I hope others appreciate.
What are some brands that you have worked with, or some brands that you would love to work with?
Brands I have worked with include Neutrogena, Shein, Na-kd, Cleobella, Lancome, Qupid, Vint & York, Daniel Wellington and MVMT.
I would love to work with Asos (my absolute go to), Free People and many more popular, every day brands. If I could work with any of the top shelf designer brands, it would be with Helmut Lang, Delpozo, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Balenciaga, Celine and Chloe.
