Last night Windy City Bloggers gathered at Crossing Tavern to watch the Oscars Red Carpet and then the 86th Academy Awards. Red Carpet coverage was hit-or-miss but there was plenty of celebrity gossip to keep conversations going! If you ever need any juicy details, we’ve discovered that Laurie from 312 Beauty should be who you turned to! Do you have favorites from the carpet? The staff at Crossing made a cocktail for each Best Picture nominee and The Wolf of Wall Street – Money Maker was one of the favorites! Probably for it’s summery, refreshing taste – we can wish right?
There were some red carpet props and a photobooth area (complete with a giant Oscar statue) and naturally our bloggers were all over it. Our bloggers do a fabulous job of being stylish every day but it was fun to see the group a little extra gussied for the occasion (the same could not be said for Jimmy Kimmel). But, did anyone else notice that Jared Leto, Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Seacrest (and even Ellen) had on essentially the same cream tuxedo? The appeal of the look grew on us, as did Mr. Leto’s hair.
Overall it was a fun viewing party and a great way to wrap up Awards Season for this year. Thank you to Audrey and Crossing Tavern for putting together a fun night for us and thank you to all the bloggers who came out!
