Meet the Member: Katie of Grace in the Crumbs

Today we are introducing you to Katy from Grace in the Crumbs! She shares everything from her favorite recipes to everyday real moments trying to raise four kids on her site.

When did you start blogging and what inspired you to start your blog?

I started Grace in the Crumbs as a way to connect with other women and stay creatively inspired.  I always talk with my kids about pushing themselves out of their comfort zones, and not being afraid to take risks.  Grace in the Crumbs was my way to practice what I preach.

I’m a professionally trained chef but found myself only making mac-n-cheese for my little people at home.  The blog was a way for me to get back to what I truly love, cooking.

What is your favorite blog post that you have written?

My favorite post I’ve written to date was one that I just published in January.  It was a letter to my oldest son, who had just turned 10.  I love writing about my recipes and my food philosophy, but I find that when I share a raw piece of my world, my readers really connect.

Sharing parts of my personal journey with motherhood was not something I expected to do on Grace in the Crumbs but rather something that organically happens because it’s where most of my readers can relate and connect.

What do you love about blogging?

I love how blogging has opened my world to so many other like-minded individuals. Being a stay-at-home-mom can be isolating at times, especially when you have little ones.  The blog gave me a way to connect, meet people and in turn, feel inspired by them – all while my little guys napping at home.  It’s been an amazing gift I wasn’t expecting.

What are some brands that you have worked with, or some brands that you would love to work with?

I worked with Calphalon last year, which was a wonderful opportunity, but my dream collaboration would be with FOOD52.  I’m always so inspired by their images, recipes, and product recommendation.
