Hi Fellow Bloggers! My name is Sarah Meyer and I am the founder and editor of Sarah In Style . My blog is my baby, but mainly my creative outlet. I write primarily about fashion (my style, red carpet style, fashion inspiration), travel (ideas of things to do, see and eat in all the wonderful places I go) and design (home décor inspiration). I also dabble in food posts (recipes) every so often!
When did you start blogging and what inspired you to start your blog?
I started my blog a little over one year ago! I knew a long time before then that it was something I was interested in, but it took me awhile to figure out what I would call it, what I would write about, etc. Finally, Sarah In Style came to fruition. Don’t get me wrong, I love my day job, as a training consultant for a PR and marketing software company, but I needed something for just me…a true hobby if you will. Sarah In Style is an outlet for my creativity. It keeps me on my toes, is a lot of hard work, and something I am truly passionate about.
What is your favorite blog post that you have written?
It is so hard to pick just one. They have all taken so much thought and effort to create; it’s almost like picking a favorite child. What makes it harder is that I blog about a number of topics, so I’m not really comparing apples to apples. But, if I had to narrow it down, it would probably be a post about something I loved the most over the last year while I have been blogging, and that was my trip to Europe. Italy, in particular, was a highlight, and this post about Cinque Terre and this one about Capri, really just captured Italy’s intense beauty.
What do you love about blogging?
I love that it always gives me a new perspective on life! I can take a normal adventure and turn it into something I can share with all of my readers. I find that I now look for the details in things more, maybe it’s because I am always taking pictures, but it really opens your eyes to more than you would normally see. I also love the opportunities it has given me, through groups like Windy City Bloggers, partnerships with brands, etc. I have gotten to meet so many great people!
What are some brands that you have worked with, or some brands that you would love to work with?
One of my favorites to work with is BFree . I have to eat gluten-free for health reasons and over the years of doing that I have really missed “real” bread. Well, BFree solved that for me. They have a great product and are very sweet to work with. In the future, I would say Kate Spade definitely tops my lists of brands I hope to work with! I am a huge fan of all things Kate Spade and it just perfectly fits my personal aesthetic and that of my blog.
