Meet the Member: Plus Sized Prep

Hello beautiful sunshine flowers! I’m Charlotte Williams from The Plus-Sized Prep! The Plus-Sized Prep is a (you guessed it) plus-size style blog. In my blog, I enjoy talking about my favorite brands, upcoming trends, beauty, my love affair with Pinot Grigio, and sarcasm (aka the lifeblood that pumps through my veins). I am unapologetically sarcastic—and punny!—and even though it’s gotten me in trouble on numerous occasions, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

When did you start blogging and what inspired you to start your blog?

I started blogging in 2010, but I would call it more of a “rant diary”. It was complaints about my weight, self-esteem problems, and ways of navigating plus-size life as a high-schooler. At the end of my first year of college, I decided to revamp the blog and make it more professional. My two biggest inspirations were (and still are!) Allison Teng of Curvy Girl Chic, and Tanesha Awasthi of Girl With Curves. Their style and personalities are absolutely beautiful. If I ever met them I would fangirl and then immediately die.

What is your favorite blog post that you have written?

Surprisingly enough, my favorite blog post isn’t about fashion or style. It’s called “I’m into Skin”. It was my first blog post after my “sabbatical” from blogging. I wrote it because my skin is a constant source of panic for me and I’ve recently found a really good rhythm. I also just love complaining about the many steps I take at night to get (relatively) baby soft skin!

What do you love about blogging?

Not only can I share my love of fashion and my taste in plus-size style, but I really love who I can be through my writing. It’s hard in person to come across witty and sassy and stylish, and I get nervous all the time when I meet new people. But through blogging and even through Instagram, I get this huge boost of self-confidence. I can be funnier and nicer; I can be my better self.
What are some brands that you have worked with, or some brands that you would love to work with?

I have just recently worked with a Swedish plus brand called ellos. It was my first collaboration and it was super exciting!! In the future, I hope to work with ELOQUII, a fun and trendy plus-size brand, beauty and skincare brands, and accessories brands (sunglasses and totes are my weaknesses)
